If starting in Kanto, and trying to leave before getting a pokemon and such, it says you have to talk to Professor Elm. One is literally the male sprite from the Hoenn games. First, Professor Oak does the general Are you a boy or a girl? This question is completely pointless as I chose girl, but both sprite choices are male.
